Publication Ethics
- Asia-Pacific Social Research (APSR) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. We adhere to the principles and guidelines developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expect all parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—to maintain ethical behavior throughout all stages of scholarly communication.
- 1. Responsibilities of Authors
- Authors must ensure that their work is original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism.
- Submissions must not have been previously published or be under consideration elsewhere.
- Authors must clearly acknowledge all sources of funding and potential conflicts of interest.
- All listed authors must have made a significant contribution to the research and approved the final version of the manuscript.
- Research involving human subjects must follow ethical standards and include appropriate approvals or informed consent.
- 2. Responsibilities of Editors
- Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on scholarly merit, originality, relevance, and clarity, without discrimination.
- Editors will ensure a fair and unbiased double-blind peer review process.
- Editors must take appropriate action in cases of suspected ethical misconduct, including plagiarism or data manipulation.
- 3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and objectivity during the review process.
- They must disclose any conflicts of interest and decline reviews when necessary.
- Reviewers should provide constructive feedback and report any ethical concerns to the editors.
- 4. Plagiarism and Misconduct
- All submitted manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism using appropriate software.
- APSR considers plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, and improper authorship practices as serious misconduct.
- Allegations of misconduct will be investigated thoroughly and may result in retraction, correction, or reporting to institutions or funders.
- 5. Corrections and Retractions
- If significant errors or ethical breaches are discovered after publication, APSR will take swift action to issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions, following COPE guidelines.
- 6. Conflict of Interest
- All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work.
- APSR promotes transparency and integrity by requiring full disclosure at all stages.
- By submitting to APSR, authors confirm their commitment to ethical publishing practices. The journal strives to provide a trustworthy academic environment that supports rigorous, responsible, and respectful research publication.
